should we burn all the Holly Books?
it seems that there is a returning of the old good days of the WW II
however, it is hard to believe that it is all about this book; it may be some other reasons underneath.

There is a lot of press coverage given to this news item but nobody has mentioned the exact reason why the Siberian court wants to ban it. if fighting evil is considered to be an extremist act then the very purpose of human existence is defeated. After all the meaning of man’s life is to establish the Divine on earth and for that many a battle has to be fought and the final war won.

All the true Holly Books, as such, must be worshipfully respected and preserved. yet we must be very careful with certain translations (tradutore-traditore).

Dont they have in Russia more important issues to deal with, like piverty, public health, education, etc? the Gita is a matter of personal choise and faith.

It seems that those who try to stop Bhagwad Gita in Russia are themselves extremists. they are so primitive that they don’t understand what is religion. Hinduism is the most democratic religion in the world and there is no extremism in it and if anybody sees extremism in it, then you are the extremist.it seems that we have to preach more about Bhagawad Gita to the present world to have peace rather than confining to us. This action will help us to give more importace to it.

I too am shocked about this. as I am trying to think of a legitimate comment, I am speechless. it is too extreme to find anything to say. it is unfortunate that because of fear and ignorance, people in power make judgements. You could talk about it all day trying to intellectualize, but intellect and ignorance are like oil and water. they don’t mesh in the same conversation. God bless us.

What will happen if some just pretend that they don’t own a GITA? Will the government establish a new research and executive department only to check whether all exemplars are vanished?
Besides, why only the third edition?

Every religion has script proposing victory of good over evil. Should we ban all religious holy books then? It’s a shame that in a country like Russia some people have the audacity to challenge the holy Bhagavadgita! if only they truly understand the essence of this mighty life altering material they would not really do this kind of hidious act. and by following it one might as well save great nations from crumbling into pieces. instead some people still want to choose the path to peril. God save them. it is the fear of those people to accept and acknowledge the truth and popularity of the holiness of Lord Krishna that makes them insecure and hence branding it as extremist literature. the whole world believes in Gita now, and if a handful of them try to raise dust on it, I can say it to only hide their fear and disbelief in their own religion or God they follow. I request such people to ignore their petty mindedness and see the bigger picture.

December 27, 2011 at 8:38 pm(12) Rami Krisna says:
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most important books to read in this world, because it’s the direct message of Krisna, and he is the Supreme Personality, the only one Doer. if someone reads this book, it’s going to open the eyes for the real truth of life. I hope people can read this sacred book all over the world.

knowledge is power, perhaps, a scholor of the bhagavad gita should explain it to the few russians who have taken issue with it. ask a realised krishnah devotee to invite those individuals to taste the nectar of godhead. on the altars of all religion, call him ram, krishna, allah, jesus ,buddha or the star of david who are we but mere mortals to question the multiplicity of the divine. fear is synonymous with hate so as vedantas we must always strive to enlighten others and open up their vision.

Hinduism is the oldest living religion. it is better known as Sanatana Dharma than religion. Sanatana Dharma meansEternal or Universal Righteousness. it is the Path to highly civilized & spiritual life.Bhagavad-Gita is a syncretistic treatise from the Mahabharata, is of special importance. it combines Vedanta, Yoga, and some Samkhya philosophy into its discussion of good conduct and life.for instance, whether they can ban Yoga all over the world?not possible. Hinduism always want the world to be benefited with all the goodness of ancient indian culture.
People who are against the Bhagavad-Gita are the extremists, who do not understand the essence of life.the Hindus all over the world, please join to fight against such nonsense & repulsion. God Bless all.

It is real shocking to know that the Russian Orthodox Church feels that there is something deplorable in the Bhagavad Gita which is what makes it extremist and its readers to hate followers of other religions. if that is so then all the religious books should be banned which specifically mention of names of just one god who should be worshipped. Hinduism does not do this and asks its adherents to respect all religions and to respect different gods in different forms which essentially is just one god!by the way was the Russian Orthodox Church or the others who are crying foul over Bhagavad Gita aware that when this great book was in existence there was no other book of other religion in existence? So by the same logic there was no other religion then against which it could preach hatred?
December 28, 2011 at 6:34 am(16) Dipnarine Singh says:
The people should decide what they wwant to read or not read.saying that the holy book is extremist is not enough. one must point out the sections or verses that is believed to be extremist and indicate why it is so thought. I have read the Bhagavad Gita myself and found it to be very inspiring and thought provoking. This book must exist side by side with all good and holy books. it would be a great loss to those who are debarred from accessing such a sacred book or a great and ancient piece of literature, however one choose to view it.

It is very sad that anyone would feel threatened by the Gita. I believe there is alot of fear in the collective consciousness at this time. We can either feed into it or consciously send peaceful and loving thoughts into this ocean of the subconscious that becomes awareness. always remember that those people who lash out in fear and anger are usually those that have been hurt very much themselves. I believe we all can assist in lifting the burdens they can no longer carry by themselves. they are overwhelmed. there is a phrase I agree with that the good guy says to the bad guy in Science Fiction: “You and I are not that different.”
