With so many recently popular film series based off of adventure books for kids, it’s becoming quite clear that children are now sharing their library shelf with adults. the latest and most well-known series are a mix of fantasy, adventure, and romance. Written for children and young adults, these series became so popular with children and adults that entire empires were founded off them.
Adults enjoy adventure tales mostly because it hearkens back to childhood potential. Young people imagine things all the time, but adults are too mired in responsibility to wonder at magic or mystery. Novels written for grownups usually reflect reality, and aren’t much fun. But kids believe they can do anything, and they and adults alike can be inspired by the heroic actions of young characters in stories.
The most popular children’s adventure tales are those that follow a main character who doesn’t seem to fit in with their society. nearly all children and adults can relate to feeling out of place. It is unsurprising, then, that people of all ages will enjoy seeing a societal outcast triumph.
These novels aren’t simply telling a story, they are actually improving the reading ability of the children reading them. Many authors are taking an active role in teaching their young audiences to improve their skills by writing slightly more complicated prose. this inspires children to stretch their capabilities, and grow as readers, while also ensuring the content is not boring to adult audiences.
It’s easy to find positive lessons in children’s adventure books, and the stories are frequently appropriate for the entire family. Off-color topics are generally not included, and any grown-up events or topics are typically handled carefully. Parents and children can share the same stories without being embarrassed or concerned about propriety.
It may be that children will have to start making room at their library shelves for Mom and Dad. Adventure books for kids are wildly popular and becoming even more so, as families start to engage with each other around a common source. It’s fun for the whole family.
